Speakers’ Bios

Dr. Evrim Buyukaslan Oosterom works as an Assistant Professor in the Textile and Fashion Design Department at Istanbul Bilgi University. Her research interests include but are not limited to garment fit, digital fashion, 3D body scanning, consumers’ interaction with 3D clothing technologies, pedagogy of design education, and artificial intelligence for fashion and textile applications.

Dr. Fatma Baytar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Centered Design at Cornell University. She is the director of the Fashion and Body Tech Lab. Dr. Baytar has conducted research in the areas of the use of 3D body scan data as well as 3D apparel simulations in determining the sizing and fit of apparel, digital avatars and body image, AR applications for virtual dressing rooms, and the effects of using 3D virtual prototyping and VR on design skills.
